Lisa M. Lum

Executive Director

Lisa currently serves as Executive Director at AAMA, leading the association’s efforts to accelerate ideas and best-in-class collaboration with high-tech venture capitalists, successful entrepreneurs, and up-and-coming innovators in Silicon Valley and Asia.  Prior to AAMA, Lisa was at The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Ltd. responsible for operational development and planning for the Group’s portfolio Peninsula Hotels in Asia, the United States and Europe, which include the opening of The Peninsula Shanghai in 2009 and the opening of The Peninsula Paris in 2014.

Lisa first joined The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Ltd. on property level in 2001 at The Peninsula Beijing as Management Trainee. She then moved to Hong Kong and was Chief of Protocol at the California Trade and Investment Office from 2001-2002. Prior to rejoining The Peninsula Group in 2007, she was a Senior Executive at 1868 Associates, Inc., a private business development and investment company where she provided event planning and project management support to a broad client base in Beijing and Singapore.

Lisa grew up in San Francisco and received her bachelor of arts degree in Legal Studies from U.C. Berkeley and spent one year with the Associate Kyoto Program at Doshisha University, Japan.  As a lifelong learner, Lisa recently completed the Venture Capital Executive Program at Haas School of Business and a Certificate in Hotel Revenue Management from Cornell University.
