Lisa M. Lum

Executive Director

Lisa currently serves as Executive Director at AAMA, overseeing business development, program planning and execution, operations, fundraising, and communications at AAMA.  Prior to AAMA, Lisa was at The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Ltd. responsible for operational development and planning for the Group’s portfolio Peninsula Hotels in Asia, the United States and Europe, which include the opening of The Peninsula Shanghai in 2009 and the opening of The Peninsula Paris in 2014.

Lisa first joined The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Ltd. on property level in 2001 at The Peninsula Beijing as Management Trainee. She then moved to Hong Kong and was Chief of Protocol at the California Trade and Investment Office from 2001-2002. Prior to rejoining The Peninsula Group in 2007, she was a Senior Executive at 1868 Associates, Inc., a private business development and investment company where she provided event planning and project management support to a broad client base in Beijing and Singapore.

Lisa grew up in San Francisco and received her bachelor of arts degree in Legal Studies from U.C. Berkeley and spent one year with the Associate Kyoto Program at Doshisha University, Japan.


CEO for SaaVee Inc.

Rodrick is the CEO for SaaVee Inc, a security product company specializing in BYOD solutions.  SaaVee also has an IT services arm focusing on Cloud Computing, Mobility (Mobile Apps) and Big Data. He previously worked as VP for Cloud Computing, and was one of the key members in Management team at Rofous Inc. He was responsible for the Sales and Business Development of the Consulting group. The group helped clients with the Cloud Strategy.Rofous was recently acquired by GlobalLogic in June, 2011.

Prior to Rofous, he was the COO for Sun Professional Services Sales division. The division is responsible for generating revenue of $1.3B. He developed the business operational reporting capabilities (leveraging IT) that is used worldwide for Management to get all the data analysis instantly. He is also instrumental in forming the group specialized in DataCenter Efficiency (DCE). DCE helps datacenter environment greener by reducing carbon footprint. Rodrick started his career at Oracle Corporation.

He designed, developed, and implemented the Oracle Financials (ERP) and Manufacturing  Applications. He worked in the Development teams later worked in the Oracle Consulting Group traveling the world helping clients implement Oracle Applications. He later settled in Singapore managing the Oracle Consulting Group for ERP Applications and Datawarehousing.  After Oracle, he joined Aspect Communications (CRM Applications) and headed the Consulting division for Asia Pacific. His group is responsible for screen-pops and customizing the CRM applications to local needs.

Angela Pan

Angela is no stranger to the challenges of starting a business. With experience launching two startups Angela has come to be an entrepreneurial expert. Angela found success launching an internet startup and a lifestyle firm by developing impressive growth, creating a new brand from scratch, strategic branding and executing marketing strategies.

In addition to her entrepreneurial ventures, Angela has expertise in technology investment. Currently, Angela spends her days as a Principal at Haxis Labs focusing on early stage investment of IOT wearables and hardware related startups. Angela’s experience with a technology incubator in Silicon Valley gave her the opportunity to take charge of partnerships between Asia and the U.S., direct incubator operations, and oversee the due diligence process in decision-making.

Angela has been recognized internationally with an interview from German ARD TV and in a documentary for Channel 8 in Singapore. In her spare time, Angela is also a self-taught designer, her passion for design has given her a broad vision and deep understanding of style and allure.

Elizabeth Quade 

Elizabeth is a co-founder of ChinaaXess, a database provider in China.  ChinaaXess distributes database software that powers enterprise and cloud computing with reliability and scalability. Prior to founding ChinaaXess, Elizabeth was a Venture Associate at China Broadband Capital (CBC), a leading venture capital firm in China focusing on cloud computing, mobile and digital media.

Elizabeth started her career as an Associate at Tano Capital, a firm specializing in investments in companies based in India and China as well as in global hard assets. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, Elizabeth is an alumna of the Beijing based Inter-University Program (formerly the Stanford Center) at Tsinghua University.  She holds an MSc from the University of London, and a BS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Vicki Xia

Vicki Xia has business development, consulting and investment experience, focused on tech, new media and energy, in the US and China. Vicki is currently a manager in business development with Applied Materials, covering M&A, venture capital, strategic partnerships and commercial deals. Prior to Applied Materials, Vicki was with Accenture Strategy Practice and BDA China Ltd, a consulting and investment advisory firm focused on Telecom, Media and Technology sectors, working on corporate strategy, market entry, marketing and investmentprojects for multinational firms, including Qualcomm, Vodafone, Nokia, Shell, Tiger Global, International Finance Corporation and Mitsui. Vicki’s experience also includes telecom network design for Chinese telecom operators.  Vicki Xia earned an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Hana Yang

Hana works in Corporate Marketing at Adobe Systems, focusing on strategy and launch of new enterprise solutions for the education sector worldwide. Prior to Adobe, she was at Capgemini Consulting, where she worked on strategy and business process optimization assignments. In addition, Hana’s experiences in the non-profit sector include capacity development at the United Nations Population Fund Agency, operations at the Korean American Community Foundation, and teaching Zumba lessons to Latin and Asian seniors at the Hamilton Madison House in New York.

Hana obtained a B.A. in Latin American Literature and a minor in Education from U.C. Berkeley and a M.S. in Fundraising Management from Columbia University where she was a Columbia-CASE-CCS Fellowship recipient and the President of the Fundraising Student Association. Hana was raised in Puerto Iguazu, a town bordering Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay and is passionate about bridging communities through globalization, technology, philanthropy, and education.

Jay Ryu

He is an Associate at DFJ Athena, a venture capital firm that invests in leading start-ups in the global technology sector. Concurrently, he leads business development and strategic partnerships at Precursor Energetics, a venture-backed company developing next generation energy and electronics materials. Before joining DFJ Athena, Jay was in charge of international business development at Samsung Corporation in Korea.

Jay also spent several years in Dubai as a project manager overseeing the construction of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. Jay earned a B.A. in Architecture from U.C. Berkeley, where he played NCAA Division 1 water polo and won a National Championship on the Taekwondo team. Jay holds a M.S. in Clean-Tech from Stanford University and a M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business. In his spare time, Jay enjoys mountaineering, olympic weightlifting, and eating large meals.

Kevin Lam

Kevin is a recent graduate from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and a minor in Black Studies.  He is currently a member of Code for San Francisco's Project Launch core-team and the UX Research Group.  Kevin self-studies software engineering.
